Paddle Back

Report and Images by Who?

Once again, the CNY Kayakers attempted to gamble with the weatherman on
our Sunday paddle at Owasco Lake.  And again we were able to exit the
high seas just in time for dry land.  This sure is the season for
thunderstorms.  A dozen paddlers met at Emerson Park, some of us in the
wrong area, but we were all able to group together for an enjoyable day
on the water.  The waves were a little too much for some of the group,
so they enjoyed the outlet while the rest of us headed for the open
lake.  A little rain and waves but very enjoyable.  The return trip was
accompanied with a bit of thunder, which encouraged us on with a degree
of urgency but we made back to the beach and an open pavilion just in
time for the sky to open and the deluge to begin.  Wet as drowned rats,
lately that seems to be the normal condition, we loaded our boats and
headed for Applebee's in Auburn.  Another great paddle in Central NY.
