21 paddlers found ample parking at the West Lake Boat Launch just as a downpour came through. By the time we got the boats into the water the sun was out on a very warm afternoon, but on the water we had ample breezes to keep us cool as we paddled to the Village. There were plenty of gas-guzzling boats giving us some pretty decent waves (broadsides) and the water temperature seemed to be just above freezing. Once in the Village we had lots of choices - some got ice cream, some got cold beer across the street, and some munched on snacks in the park as passers-by admired the kaleidoscope of kayak colors. There weren't as many power boats during the paddle back (probably couldn't afford any more gas), but the wind still gave us some nice waves - especially passing the Country Club. Constable Silvers was on hand to help up get our boats loaded and many of us headed back to Doug's Fish Fry and enjoyed each others' company there, as well as the famous fish. Roger outdid himself with photos - it was the perfect day to be right where we were!
