27 paddlers met at the Town of Scott Park prior to the official launch time of 1pm so that we were all in the water on schedule! The weather could not have been more perfect as we paddled approximately 3 miles up the eastern shoreline trying to find our shale beach, which was totally under water due to the high lake level. We beached on the backside of a privately owned point, well beyond where the owner mowed and had the posted signs. The water was quite refreshing and very clear, as several of us took a dip and Roxanne received a lesson in rolling from Kitt. Be sure to watch the video of it! The lake was relatively calm at the south end, unlike the choppier north end by the Village, but several motor boats provided some nice waves for us to surf and bob in. Apres-paddle approximately 20 of us proceeded a few feet down the road to the Glen Haven, which, unfortunately for us, had stopped serving their lunch fare and seemed a bit pricey with their dinner selections - so we had a beverage and went North to Johnny Angels' for dinner. Some of us discussed adding a feature page to the club website that would display the members' faces and a first name - since we don't wear name-tags and some people paddle sporadically with the group it will make it easier to remember names. There was the usual socializing and lots of laughter, and it was a spectacular day of paddling with friends!
