Kayaking

The weather could not have been more perfect for the 40 or so kayakers that met at Montario Point and paddled the relatively short distance through the Lakeview Marsh to South Sandy Beach on Lake Ontario. The rollers were coming in fast and furious, keeping most of us on the beach, but several ventured out into them to test their skills – all successfully!  Many paddlers brought food to share and thanks to Roger, who also got some great photos, as usual, we had a buffet table. Newcomers included Hugh’s sister, Joy, who tried out lots of kayaks, and Tim & Jackie Smith of Camillus who hung out on the beach enjoying the company of regular club members, also Phil’s son, who at 3 years old got a tow from his Dad and some great “giant sandbox” time at the beach. Aneta's Dad from her native Poland is visiting and really enjoying himself kayaking. After a couple hours of high quality sun and sand time the paddle back seemed too short; several went on to the Waterfront for a bite to eat, although the deck proved to be too full and the dining space was indoors. It was another fantastic day of kayaking with great people!
