Approximately 5-6 miles
A Great Trip for Beginners
This is a Repeat Trip
Lakeview Marsh is located
at the east end of Lake Ontario. We will paddle along South Sandy Creek to
a nice beach
on Lake Ontario and return. The paddle is an easy paddle of approximately
5-6 miles round trip. This trip will be slow paced and designed to give beginners
a good experience.
We will stop at the beach on the lake for a snack break. It is also a great
place for a swim and a good place to practice a wet exit from your boat if
you have never done it. Bring plenty of snacks for the beach. We want this
to be a relaxing trip. Please be sure that you are properly dressed for the paddle and have all appropriate equipment. We will meet at the launch site at 12:00 PM (See Directions
Below).
Directions from Syracuse: Take Rt. 81 north from Syracuse to
the Pulaski Exit.
We will meet at 11:30 PM at the C&M Diner which is located at the Pulaski
exit of Rt. 81 north and caravan from there. You will see the diner on your
right at the top of the exit ramp.
If you wish to continue to the launch site on your own, turn left at the top
of the exit ramp onto Rt. 13 and proceed west to Rt. 3. Turn right on Rt.
3 and proceed north approximately 12 miles to the South Sandy Creek fishing
access parking lot. You will see the parking lot on the left just after the
metal bridge that crosses South Sandy Creek. The GPS coordinates are N43° 42.589
and W076° 10.941.
Please Note: Directions for each trip are provided to help people unfamiliar with the area to find the location of the trip. They are not meant to necessarily be the most direct route from your own location.
