Stillwater
For August 18-20, 2007

We have made accommodations at the Norridgewock Lodge at Beaver River for all members who have registered for the trip. The trip is scheduled for August 18-20. We will meet at the Stillwater Reservoir boat launch at 11:30 AM on Saturday, August 18th. Our gear will be shipped by boat to the lodge. We will begin our paddle around 12:30 PM. Please be sure that you are properly dressed for the paddle and have all appropriate equipment. Parking at Stillwater can sometimes be a problem if it is a busy weekend. You will be able to find a spot, but you may have to walk a distance. The earlier you arrive, the better your chance of a good parking spot.

Directions for the Stillwater Trip: Take Interstate 90 east from Syracuse to Utica. From the Utica exit, take Routes 12 & 28 north toward Old Forge. Just past the Kayuta Kwick n E-Z on your right, Routes 12 & 28 split. Take Route 28 toward Old Forge. Continue through Old Forge to Eagle Bay. In Eagle Bay, you will turn left onto the Stillwater/Big Moose Road. Continue on this road. It will eventually become a dirt road. Stay on the dirt road to the T-intersection. Turn right at this intersection. You will see a short section of paved road that will take you to the landing. Note: It is also possible to get to Stillwater through Lowville, but the directions are a little more complicated. Take your pick.
