Chittenango Creek
Bridgeport to Oneida Lake

For those who like adventure, this trip is new. We will be paddling on Chittenango Creek from Bridgeport to Oneida Lake. Because of swift water on part of the trip, we will need to shuttle cars before we start the paddle. The take-out is at the Fisher Bay Restaurant on Oneida Lake which will also serve as the location of our after paddle renewal of energy. Also, there have been reports of two Eagle sightings in this area. Maybe we will get to see them. Because of the time of year, this trip is only for experienced paddlers who are properly prepared for cold weather and cold water conditions.

Since weather conditions can change rapidly at this time of year, we strongly suggest that you check the Web site both Saturday night and Sunday morning in the event that the plans need to be changed or the trip needs to be canceled.

We will be launching from the Sheldon Memorial Park in Bridgeport. Launch time is 12:00 noon.

Directions To The Launch Site: Take Route 81 North from Syracuse to the Route 31 exit. Drive east on Route 31 to Bridgeport. Just before the Route 31/Route 298 junction in Bridgeport you will see a Fast Trac gas station on the left and a Kinney Drug store on the right. Sheldon Park is across the road from the Kinney Drug store behind a car wash.
