Horseshoe Island Launch Site To Lock 23 On The Oneida River Sunday, November 7, 2010 Launch Time 12:00 Noon

We will be paddling from the launch site under the Rt. 481 bridge to Lock 23 and return. Note that this is the same launch site that we use for the Horseshoe Island trip.  Please be sure that you are properly dressed for the paddle and have all appropriate equipment. We will meet at the launch site at 12:00 Noon (See Directions Below). For those who are interested, we will stop at the Euclid Restaurant after the paddle for dinner.

Directions from Syracuse on Rt. 481: Take Rt. 481 north to Rt. 31 and turn right on Rt. 31. Just past Great Northern Mall, turn left on Morgan Road. You will see the Euclid Restaurant on the corner. (Continue Below)

Directions from Syracuse on Rt. 81: Take Rt. 81 north to Rt. 31 and turn left on Rt. 31. Go approximately 5.1 miles and then turn right on Morgan Road. You will see the Euclid Restaurant on the corner. (Continue Below)

After you turn onto Morgan Road, go approximately 1.2 miles and turn left on Maider Road. This turn is just before the bridge that crosses the river. About .5 miles after the turn, Maider Road makes a left turn. Do not take this turn. Instead, continue straight on Bonstead Road which follows along the river for a distance. Continue about 2 more miles to the Oneida River Boat Launch which is located under the Rt. 481 bridge. The GPS coordinates of the launch point are N43° 12.619 and W076° 15.972.
