Sylvan Beach
Sunday, July 4, 2010
Approximately 8-10 Miles
Our Sunday, July 4th
trip is on either the NYS Barge Canal going east from Sylvan Beach and
return, or Oneida Lake to Oneida Creek and then up Oneida Creek and
back. This will depend on the condition of Oneida Lake. If the lake is
calm, we will do Oneida Creek. If not, we will do the Barge Canal. We
will meet at 1:00 PM at the launch site which is located under the
bridge at Sylvan Beach along the canal. Please be sure that you are properly
dressed for the paddle and have all appropriate equipment.
Directions from Syracuse: To get there, take the Thruway east
from Syracuse to exit 34 and then Route 13 north. As you enter Sylvan
Beach, turn left just before the bridge and then right to proceed to
the area under the bridge.
Please Note: Directions for each trip are provided to help people unfamiliar with the area to find the location of the trip. They are not meant to necessarily be the most direct route from your own location.
