There are 2 options for this trip depending on conditions and comfort zone. If river is kicking up its heels, the bay itself is very protected and would offer a 5-6 mile circumnavigation for paddlers more comfortable with that. If river is mellow, paddle 10 miles round trip exploring lots of islands, coves and bays. Want to paddle farther, I'm (Bob Bennett) planning on getting there at 9:30 to paddle an extra 2 hours before the group (about 8 miles additional). Please be sure that you are properly dressed for the paddle and have all appropriate equipment. Directions Fro Syracuse:  Take Rt. 81N to Exit 50N towards Alexandria Bay. Take Rt. 12 toward Ogdensburg for approximately 14.5 miles.  Turn left onto Church St. Turn left onto Denner Rd/ Main St. launch is at the at the end of the road.
