I was out for a bike ride today a noticed that the DEC is putting in a parking lot on East Lake Road just North of the village. The land was donated to the state by a family that couldn't afford to pay taxes on land they inherited. The state built a boardwalk down to the water last fall so that ice-fishers could have access to the lake. I'm not sure how difficult it is to get kayaks down to the water, but I'll check this weekend. The parking lot looks to be fairly large. It is a fairly large parcel of land. I read that the state plans to put in a nature trail.
